Legal grounds and purpose of the data processing
Below we will inform you of the legal grounds of our data processing
pursuant to Art. 13 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Art. 6 paragraph 1 point (a) and Art. 7 GDPR: Obtaining consent
- Art. 6 paragraph 1 point (b) GDPR: Services and performance of
contractual measures, as well as responding to enquiries - Art. 6 paragraph 1 point (c) GDPR: Processing for compliance with legal obligations
- Art. 6 paragraph 1 point (f) GDPR: Processing for the pursuit of legitimate interests
Personal data that you provide voluntarily, for instance your contact details, will be
collected and processed when you visit our website. This data may be provided on our
contact form, in the job applications tool and elsewhere.
The purpose of this data processing is to ensure the availability of our website, its
functions and content, as well as to respond to requests for contact,
e.g. using the online job applications tool.
When we receive contact requests on the job applications tool, we reserve the right to
forward them to our IT department to perform a scan for malicious code/malware.
Our website uses the encryption standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This means that
data is transferred between the provider’s server and the user’s computer in an
encrypted form in order to guarantee security of data transmission.
The security of the data that you transfer to us online cannot be guaranteed to 100%.
We can assure you nevertheless that we will process your data for its intended purpose
and in accordance with the relevant data protection laws.
Collection of access data and log files
Our provider collects data each time the server that hosts our website is accessed (log
files). It does so on the basis of our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 paragraph
1 point (f) GDPR.
The access data includes the name of the accessed website, the file, date and time of
access, the data volume transferred, report on successful access, browser type and
version, the user’s operating system, the referrer URL (the page visited immediately
beforehand), IP address and the name of your Internet service provider.
Data storage
We store your data for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purpose of its processing.
Where the data is no longer required for its purpose, e.g. for the performance of a
contract or compliance with legal obligations, it will ordinarily be erased, unless its
processing is necessary due to legal obligations, e.g. for compliance with retention
periods under commercial or fiscal law.
Transfer to third parties
Where we disclose or transfer data to third parties or otherwise grant access to the data
to third parties within the framework of our processing, we shall do so exclusively if
permitted by law based on your consent, if we are subject to a legal obligation or if we
have a legitimate interest in the processing. When we commission third parties with the
processing of your data under the terms of a “data processing agreement (DPA)”, this
shall take place according to Art. 28 GDPR.
Transfer to third countries
Where we process data in a third country (outside the EU or the EEA) or this takes place
by the commissioning of services from third parties or by transferring data to third
parties, this shall only be permitted for the fulfilment of our contractual obligations,
based on your consent, for compliance with a legal obligation or if we have a legitimate
interest.
Assuming we are permitted to do so by law or by contract, we will only process or
commission the processing of data in a third country if the special conditions laid down in
Art. 44 ff GDPR are satisfied.

For example, we record from which website our website is accessed and which subpages are visited, for how long and how often.
