Personal data that you provide voluntarily, for instance your contact details, will be collected and processed when you visit our website. This data may be provided on our contact form, in the job applications tool and elsewhere.

The purpose of this data processing is to ensure the availability of our website, its functions and content, as well as to respond to requests for contact,
e.g. using the online job applications tool.

When we receive contact requests on the job applications tool, we reserve the right to forward them to our IT department to perform a scan for malicious code/malware.

Our website uses the encryption standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This means that data is transferred between the provider’s server and the user’s computer in an encrypted form in order to guarantee security of data transmission.

The security of the data that you transfer to us online cannot be guaranteed to 100%. We can assure you nevertheless that we will process your data for its intended purpose and in accordance with the relevant data protection laws.

Information for applicants

Legal grounds and purpose of the data processing
First and foremost, the purpose of data processing is to establish an employment relationship.  The main legal grounds in this regard are set out in Art. 88 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 subsection 1 Data Protection Act (BDSG). Your data is processed for the exclusive purpose of filling the vacancy for which you have submitted your application. In this regard, for an assessment of your capability to satisfy your work responsibilities, it may be necessary to process your health data according to Art. 9 paragraph 2 point (h) GDPR in conjunction with Section 22 subsection 1b) BDSG.

As a rule, your data will be collected directly from you during the applications process, in particular in application documents, job interviews and in staff questionnaires as applicable. We are also entitled to obtain data from third parties (e.g. intermediaries) and publicly accessible sources (e.g. professional networks). We may process the following personal data during the applications process:

  • Basic personal data (e.g. your name)
  • Contact details (telephone number)
  • Professional data (e.g. apprenticeship, degree programme)
  • Data concerning your particular knowledge/skills

Only the persons and department (e.g. the HR department) within our company that are involved in a decision on your recruitment will receive access to your personal data. We do not use any fully-automated processing tools.

Where we reject your application, your application documents will be erased no later than six months after the end of the applications process, except where you have granted your consent to a longer retention period (applicant pool).
